Purchasing Assistant

We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to help maintain our supply inventory levels and negotiate deals with potential vendors. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for learning company purchasing policies and procedures, and maintaining supply inventory levels required for effective company operation. The successful candidate will also be charged with conducting regular price comparisons to ensure that the company is always getting the best price for each product that is purchased.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain strong working relationships with our vendors

  • Review purchasing agreements with vendors and maintain open lines of communication with those vendors

  • Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs based on quarterly and annual numbers

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and establish long-term purchasing arrangements with vendors when it is beneficial to the company

  • Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors wen there are discrepancies

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED required

  • 1+ years of experience

  • A multi-tasker who pays attention to details

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

  • Experience with AutoCAD a plus

  • Excellent computer skills in MS: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access and internet savvy

Production Administrative Assistant

Primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Maintain project/production spreadsheet, such as enter new data, update required dates, purge information

  • Maintain and review released orders and shop drawings for accuracy and price prior to factory queue-up

  • Follow up with project team on statuses – releases, missing/short COMs, missing finish samples, etc.

  • Follow up with purchasing department on statuses – purchased parts, shortages, etc.

  • Confirm applicable departments have all information to complete projects.

  • Assist with any outsourcing requirements.

  • Liaise and handle information flow between project team and production VPs.

  • Assist in providing accurate production and process schedule

  • Accurately communicate milestones, discrepancies, deadlines with proper departments to ensure clients’ needs are met.

  • Support production VPs as needed.

  • May be involved in factory safety initiatives

  • Have a 1 year college degree in a related Design field or equivalent experience.

  • Have experience in the interior design, hospitality, or interior architecture fields.

  • Have effective and articulate written, graphic and oral communication skills.

  • Be computer savvy and be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Have a bright, positive attitude and a proactive, professional demeanor.

  • Have a background in and passion for furniture and/or interior design.

Draft Engineer

Job summary

  • Design and develop custom furniture products.

Summary of essential job functions

  • Develop customized products using primarily wood composite materials.

  • Develop product design in compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.

  • Interacts with manufacturing through product release and pilot runs.

  • Understand the relationship between major components: structural frame, glass doors and mirrors, hardware and how to use in order to achieve the desired aesthetic and functional design.

  • Maintains and develops product pricing.

  • Create 2D and 3D Auto CAD design and layouts of in-home products and assemblies.

Minimum requirements or preferred requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years in design and development within furniture industry

  • Knowledge of innovative design concepts, material, and processes

  • Knowledge of product management, product development and fabrication processes for optimal product design.

  • Extensive Auto CAD experience

  • Knowledge and application of Solid Works is a plus.

  • Knowledge and application of Excel.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-pace environment

  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus
